Brewers lose the NLCS in seven games. They choked up a 3-0 lead in game 2, which hurt. They lost a 2-1 game in 13 innings in game 4, which also hurt. And they won only two of their four home games in the series, which hurt.

Can they get back here next season? I guess anything is possible, but history tells us "NO".
Jeffress almost singlehandedly lost this series for them.

Brewers let bullpen coach Lee Tunnell go, dismiss head trainer, say goodbye to hitting coach Darnell Coles (who reportedly resigned).

Maybe Coles will go to St. Louis and turn Ozuna into an MVP so that the entire Marlins outfield of 2017 has a trophy in their case.

Were any of those guys actual problems?

How the hell did Darnell Coles end up a major league hitting coach in the first place???

The bullpen was clearly the strength of the team, so nobody knows why Tunnell is out. He was there before Stearns arrived; speculation is he maybe doesn't see eye-to-eye with the pitching coach.

The team was not an offensive powerhouse (fewest runs of any of the NL playoff teams) and several returning hitters seemed to regress from '17 (Santana - lost his power and was sent to minors; Arcia - lost ability to take pitches or drive the ball and was sent to the minors; Shaw - lost 30+ points on BA and OPS; Braun - lost 50 points on OPS; Thames - lost nearly 100 points on OPS).

Trainer is another mystery.. possible explanation could be that the team thought Jimmy Nelson should have been back at some point during the season; one speculation is that maybe he gave Suter an all-clear just before he tore his UCL.

Coles and Johnson weren't fired... left voluntarily and made lateral (at best) moves - Coles now with Arizona. Odd. Johnson move appears to be at least partially money-related.

why do teams hire hitting coaches who couldn't hit when they played??

Brewers hire Cubs assistant hitting coach to be their hitting coach (was passed over by Cubs for their own hitting coach job after dismissing whatshisname).

Brewers sign Yasmani Grandal to 1-year, $18M+ contract, and the media erupts talking about the best FA catcher who "had to" accept a one-year deal (I guess he had no choice but to reject the Mets' 5-year, $60M offer).

no amount of money makes it worth playing for the Mets
