Couple of First Time Player Questions Topic

Hey Guys, first time playing HD (Loving it so far). I have a couple questions that I wasn't able to find answers in the forums.

1. How long is the process of Approving/Vetoing an accepted trade? I have an accepted trade that hasn't been approved yet and my Rule 5 roster freeze is tomorrow.
2. Does this game have the same weird rule as the MLB where if you leave a prospect in the minors for like 21 days or whatever you get the 7th year of control? I assumed not, but looking at past posts it looks like you might. (Add it to the list of my beginner mistakes).

Thanks!

1. The first cycle after 24 hours of acceptance. R5 changes things. If it doesn't process before the R5, get a Snickers.

2. Yes. I'm not sure it's needed in HBD as you have 10 years no matter what. 3 min, 2 arb, 5 LT. With development/decline pretty standard, position players are in decline between 30-33. Pitchers hang on a little longer.

Thank you! I think the first cycle after 24 hours would actually be the Roster Freeze. So I guess I'll see what happens.

And so what you're saying is basically it's pretty easy to sign someone to a 5 year LT deal in the last year of arbitration (provided you want them/willing to pay, etc.)?

Then it will happen the first cycle AFTER roster freeze.

They will sign every time if you meet their yearly demands. It's a game flaw, IMO.

I actually once had a guy I took the arbitration every year. The year he was going to hit UFA he refused to negotiate before saying it was because I took him to arbitration every year.

2. Yes. Bring a player up from the minors after 20 games in the majors have been played and you will get an extra year of low salary before arbitration kicks in. I think the Cubs used it when bringing up Bryant. Same thing in this game.

Correct. You can arb twice and, in the last year for arb, sign player to a 5 year deal.

What is the typical jump in yearly demands in arb year 3 vs arb yr 2?

2-3m. But I've seen over 5m.

Hmm. Probably should have said yearly demands in LT term contract in both years.

*20 days after the start of the minor league season, not ML season

Arbitration demands are bssed on stats, long term demands are based on ratings

LT demands between a 5th and 6th year player are negligible because ratings won't increase much.
