Decade Trifecta League - Season 1 Topic

MLB121257 - We've had a lot of fun with my $120MM leagues, and I'm consistently trying to find ways to create leagues with lots of options for how to build your teams, in a way that has some logic to it (i.e. not "alphabet leagues" - although I will admit to wanting for years to do a league around Mike Trout, Kevin Bass and Tim Salmon!), and for which after a few seasons that cookies start to disappear. So, I've created a new multi-season theme.

Choose a player who played across three decades (1900-1909 being the earliest), then choose one season/team from each of those decades. Draft a team of players who were teammates of your player those seasons, twisted to any season in their careers. $120MM cap. DH AL only, AAA, no waiver wire. Name your team incorporating your player's last name. Stadium must be one of the three teams' home stadiums from the years that you choose.

Info that doesn't fit in the theme summary:
(1) No clones
(2) No trades
(3) Any combination of player/teams/years used will be unique to the league, and any future seasons (blacklist - see below). For example, if someone uses Willie Randolph '75 (Pirates), '84 (Yankees) and '91 (Brewers), the combination of those three teams cannot be used again, even if somehow there is another player that played on all three. However, in future seasons, any other combination of three seasons for Willie Randolph would still be available.
(4) Individual players can only be used once during a season. Once a player is claimed in the forum, no one else can use that player that season. In the example above, no other Willie Randolph-based teams can be used in that same season, though they'll be available in future seasons.
(5) Players twisted to seasons before 1900 are allowed on rosters, but your main player's seasons must be after 1900.
(6) Your main player must be on your roster - also twisted to any season in his career.
(7) You don't have to decide AL (DH) or NL (no DH) when you claim your team - but when you enter your team in the league, let the Commish (ssupfoo) know which league you want either in the forum or by sitemail. Only entering the league claims your spot in either league. If one league fills before the other, the only option will be what's left. First-come, first-served on AL vs. NL.

CLAIM YOUR PLAYER IN THE FORUM! You must claim your player in the forum. If you enter a team that uses a player that someone has already claimed in the forum, your team will be put back into the draft center. NOTE: Claiming a player in the forum only entitles you to that player - it doesn't necessarily entitle you to a spot in the league - that's first-come, first-served. As the league gets close to filling, make sure you get your team in so you don't get shut out.

LOTS of possibilities out there. Have fun!

Are we able to fill out our bench with 200K players who were NOT teammates with our chosen player? Or must all 25 players have been teammates of our chosen player?

Interesting theme. I have some questions:

1. Can we twist our main player or do we need to use one of the 3 years selected?
2. Can we twist teammates who are not WiS eligible (less than 50 ab or 25ip) but were teammates according to baseball-reference.com?
3. Can we claim AL or NL in advance or do we need to enter our team first? If not, will you let us know when either half fills up? I don't want to keep working on a team if there's no room for it.

I know I’m not ssupfoo but...

1. “(6) Your main player must be on your roster - also twisted to any season in his career.”

Yes to #2, as well...

rbow... We deal with the AL/NL thing in my other leagues every season... You can ask for AL or NL, but if AL or NL fills before you get your team in, those slots are gone. Getting your team actually in the league is the failsafe.
