Coverage schemes an pass routes Topic

I am certain this is somewhere but I haven't found it.

Two main questions:
1. If an opponent runs almost exclusively medium and shorter pass routes should my coverage be medium and if I did long, what benefit or risk does that cause, i.e. Long coverage against medium routes, avoids big play but allows more short completions?
2. If I want to run more deep routes and change to 100% deep does that mean every received goes deep with no safety valve or does that just mean the qb looks deep first and then might check down.

Thanks in advance!

1. I always set my pass defense to medium.
2. Don't do that.

Thanks! Now I'm intrigued and might do 100% just for kicks.

if you tell it to throw deep 100% that's what it will do. no check down on it's own
Yep. Think of it like ‘flooding the zone’

It will also open you up to more sacks from holding on to the ball longer!
