LATEST STUPID RULE CHANGE BEING PONDERED BY MLB Topic

The DH would result in more runs. Expanding the strike zone would result in shorter games.

getting rid of the red sox franchise might not shorten games at all, but it would make me happy!!! :)

College games last 2:30 - 2:45 and you have a lot more 10-8 type ball games. It's the same rules, mound visits being the exception. Not sure why MLB games take so much longer, but I'm not sure there is a rule you can implement to truly affect it, without fundamentally changing the game.
Doesn't college use a pitch clock?

Yep. when it comes to Boston sports team I admit to hating 'em all!. Did I ever tell you I lived in the Boston area for a couple of years> I used to play basketball at my friend's apartment complex all the time. Several of the Patriots lived there too and played hoops with us often,. I still hated them.

No. There is a 90 second rule between innings, but I've never seen an umpire enforce it and I don't even know the penalty for breaking it.

I KNOW the SEC had clocks installed a year or two ago. Did they not use them? Did they remove them?

Well the MLB shortened the time between half innings. I even noticed it last year. It’s pretty quick. I think the reason it takes so long is cuz batters step out, and pitcher walk around the mound and doodle with the rosin bag.

You're right. It lasted a year, maybe two in the SEC. I remember seeing them at UGA games. I forgot about that.

Baseball is the only sport where your best players may not be playing in the end to decide a game...interesting right?

Andre Tippett killed the Jets. I was at the playoff game in 85-86 when Tippett and company laid it on Ken O'Brien and crew. It wasn't as close as the final, 26-14.. Brutally cold, wind chill day. Very drunk, I rode from Long Island to Jersey in the back compartment of a Mazda Rx7, both ways

Bring back the 4-man rotation, outlaw body armor and wrist bands.

Ban the DH.

RE-instate Peter H. Rose!
outlaw body armor

if the pitch hits the body armor and its not a strike its a foul ball

no free pass

body armor part of the bat. yeah even that shin guard
