EVEN STEVEN LEAGUE

Here is a theme that I don't think has been done before, and will even things out for all that join. I think. Let's see.

Choose an exclusive franchise. Draft players that have played at least ONE FULL SEASON* with your team (sorry Blues, no Gretzky). You may twist 8 players ONLY - Four forwards and three defensemen and 1 goalie. The remaining players must come from your franchises rosters.

And now... The kicker! Please follow closely, for this is what evens it all out - again, I think. No one player can have a SH% or DEF RATING equal to or more than another player. Follow? Okay, so if I'm the Sabres and I select Hajt and take his 96 d rating season, no other player on my roster can have a d rating equal to or above 96. And so on and so on. (96, 95, 94, 93, etc. Only one of each)

If you choose the Oilers and take Kurri's 28% season, then no other player can have a SH% above 28 AND whatever his d rating is for that season.

Got it? Good. And now, the rules. Yes, there is a goalie rule as there is in all my leagues.

RULES
1. Goalies capped at 90%
2. No injuries or suspensions
3. No PI
4. No ties
5. No clones
6. No WW
7. No MLers
8. Only players between 1970-71 to present

First come, first serve with franchises.

CAP: 120M

*If a player was on IR and never played at least a full season with your club, they cannot be used. A full season depends upon the era and actual number of games available to play. If a player played 41 games one season, 20 games another season, and then 21 games another season and that equals 82, then they are eligible. Rule applies to twisted players - they must adhere to the above rules to be considered. If a player was injured for less than 20 games in a season, and that was the only season for that player then that player is eligible.

Likely a silly question from a newbie, what do you mean by "twist a player"?

Not silly at all. If you choose Red Wings and decide to use Brett Hull, you can use any season from his career like, Stars or Blues. You are not restricted to just the Red Wings seasons.

I hope that helps.

Just to clarify, are the dmen and fwds to be kept in separate groups?

I don't believe so.
At least, that isn't how I drafted my team.

I'm not sure what the question means. What groups? All players are equal when it comes to applying the rules.

Thank you for the responses. The answer is as I suspected, but I was just double checking. I guess I did word the question poorly. I was trying to ask if for example I could draft my fwds within the rules and then draft my dmen within the same rules. I realize that is not the case now.
