Wrigleyfest is now Bushwood '18 Topic

Looks like 2011 was the last Wrigleyfest? Is that right?

Oh we gotta revive this...

In honor of Caddyshack we will name it Bushwood (Busch Stadium). They should have enough beer on hand to make this work...

Cards host the Cubbies June 15-17. Friday and Saturday are 7:15 games, Sunday is a day game (1:15)

Who wants to make the trip? Lodging here is fairly reasonable...so are seats...

Edited: date is not in stone yet. This might get moved to May or July...

Optional, depending on the response, would be hosting the Pirates, June 1-3...Saturday and Sunday are day games...

I think this might be as good or better. A Saturday day game, and we get a group discount...

Group sales won't give us a discount on Cubs Saturday games...

Or we could just do both...

We will see what the other local guys have to say...

Juice? He will likely chime in...he was on the mailing list.

Transportation is pretty easy. You can ride the metrolink from the airport to the stadium. From the East(from either I-55 or I-70), there is a metrolink station at Casino Queen, just across the river. Free parking over there...as for west of the downtown area, the Shrewsbury station (near I-44), or the Brentwood station (near I-64) is much easier parking, then a short ride to the ballpark...I recommend you look for lodging along the perimeter, not downtown. Most of the area along the perimeter is good, and affordable($50-75 per night is common).(ABVI has a new hotel 15 minutes south, is under $50) You can find plenty within a 15 minute drive to the rail...

Event parking at Busch or Scottrade for Blues games isn't awful. Besides the garages, there are many lots that range from $10 and up. This isn't Chicago or Boston. I have paid $50 in Windy to park at a hotel just to go to dinner. I'm sure it is even more now...my 2 cents is that the light rail and Uber make it pretty easy to stay outside the heart of the city, and save you a lot of money and aggravation...

Thejuice6 is out for most of June. Maybe he has a better plan for us...this is not in stone yet...

Hmmm, looks like I'm taking a job with a Budweiser distributor here pretty quickly. Sounds like a trip back to the mothership on the ole expense account will be in order.

Other possibilities are

Phillies May 17-20
Braves June 29-July 1
Cincy is in town July 13-15
Cubs July 27-29
MIlwaukee August 17-19

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
The Milwaukee dates in August work best for me - plus, there still might be an inkling of a divisional or wild-card race between the two teams at that time.

It's possible I could make the other dates work (outside of June) but I'd have to wait until closer to the date to make sure.

Like I said, we can do more than one...
