800 OVR in D3 Topic

A little "Look at me" here but is it even somewhat common? I just checked the top 25 in Smith and it looks like there might be a couple more before the season is done but, right now, I think Randall is the lone club member.

Hiwever Mike don't get me wrong, That guy is a 99th percentile DIII player.

Well, yeah, I know OVR isn't the be all to end all. But that wasn't the question. I only had one 800 in D2 and, obviously, none in D3. When I started looking, and asking, I couldn't find one.

So, back to the question, is 800 OVR in D3 even somewhat common?

As an example, there are 10 in Iba. The top DIII player in that world has a 903 rating. I also found 6 in Naismith but none in Knight.

903! Jeeez and that guy is only a Junior.

Remember when people said D3 teams weren't going to get better with the transition to 3.0

Knight just started, there will be a few.

I found 3-4 in almost every world.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned what Ostertaggers did in Knight D2. Guy just signed a 3 star and two 2 stars in the same class.

He has 4 freshman with an average overall of 643....that’d be the 12th best freshman class in D1 lol

Many do, which is why you see starred ones with liabilities slide to D3 teams.

I recruited a couple 800+ overall guys when I was at D3. Since the 3.0 recruiting started, it's not too much of a stretch if you get lucky and find a guy with high potential that falls through the cracks.
