Lowest Seed to win NT Topic

This is just an ‘out of curiosity’ post, but what was the lowest seed to win a NT you’ve ever seen? I saw a 7 seed is going for the title tonight in Phelan D2, which prompted the question.

In season 75, D-1 Phelan, Northwestern won it as a 13 seed. The best part of the story was that the team was basically a ghost ship. When the user finally logged in to check his team, maybe 2-3 days after the NT game, he was shocked that he won it.

As the 7 seed in question - I've lost to 9 and 10 seeds as a 1 or 2. Happy things finally went my way in the tournament, hope I can put together 40 more good minutes.

Speaking of 7 seeds winning the title, my Tiffin team is now in the championship game in Naismith tomorrow. Lost 9 regular season games, but now they decided to play well, it seems. I guess it doesn't hurt that the average defensive rating of guys that actually play is around 90 on this squad.

i think 14 seed auroraD3 won in season 3 of naismith,, but i am not in naismith anymore to check. my info says they beat a 10 seed.
they finished 29-6 with 10 rpi. (they went 5-5 non con, the 15-1 in conf and won the CT.
i assume the teams were very tightly bunched talent wise as they normally are in early years of a world.

My Colorado team that won was 43rd RPI before the NT started. 5 Top 10 RPI wins in a row and still only finished at 18th RPI.

Probably more likely a 14 seed would win it during the first few seasons in each world of HD, since the teams were the most balanced. Still a remarkable accomplishment.

The 14 seed you're speaking of made it to the Final 4 during season 3, however same world, season #1 a 13 seed won it at D-2.

Well, my 7 seed finished the job in Naismith.

Such a weird and improbable run.

Congrats. I am surprised that you lost 9 games more than I'm surprised you won that title. That defense is excellent. At least judging by just a quick glance at your team. Nice run.

I think the coach had his head up his butt during the regular season and neglected to coach any semblance of an offense
