So I got this 5-star recruit. He's a stud. Relatively Low stamina (72) but had to promise him 25 minutes to keep an idiotic B- at moderate. So he was at 19 minutes and had lost 3-5 WE points (I don't really remember) through a couple games. So I get an angry email. Try to raise minutes but it doesn't do **** and I get the second one. He's ******. Then I get his minutes up (not to 25) but he's happy again and he gains 2 WE Points throughout the season. The last 22 days of the season he gained 5 WE points (from like -3 to +2) and I got no bad emails. He just transferred. What in the ******* world can I do to prevent getting shafted in the future?

You need to get a happy email from him to assure you're in the clear, even with the WE gain.

To help combat the ST problem, gotta set him at 'getting tired' or 'tired' to keep him on the court longer.

So you made a promise, didn't keep it and he transferred?

Yeah, I think most of us have seen it happen.

Reminds me of a guy at work complaining about a ticket. He was only going 60 mph. He didn’t understand.
“The speed limit is 55 there.”
“I was only 5 mph over the speed limit though.”
“Right, but you were driving faster than the speed limit.”
”I thought you were safe up to 9 mph over the limit though, as long as you stay under 65.”
”No, the speed limit is 55. You’re safe if you stay at or below 55.”
”I think I’m going to take this to court, this is bullish!t.”
He lost.

Yeah, you said he was happy again but did he email you and say something like "you're the man coach!!"

Lol why did he gain WE, including a one-day jump from like -3 to 0. I've heard people need to lose like 10 WE to transfer.

As much as I hate to say this, this totally ties into the recruiting issue of the fact that I have to keep schools at Moderate. I had this guy at tired the whole year.

"What in the ******* world can I do to prevent getting shafted in the future?"

You can:

1. Not promise 25 minutes
2. Play him the minutes you promise.

So it's normal for people to gain WE and leave? Can y'all show me some other examples of this?
3/14/2018 9:41 AM
You're talking Tejada?

You could have played slowdown to maximize his minutes.
3/14/2018 9:44 AM
Is that the point? I thought it was you made a promise, didn't keep it and the player transferred. Your guy is the example you're requesting.

Has anyone else had a player gain WE and transfer? Y'all are really skating around my question.

Don’t even pay attention to his WE. If he sends the first email, you’re not in the clear until you get the “Thanks coach!” happy email. I’ve heard of guys transferring finishing much closer to 25 than 19. Some have said they’ve seen guys transfer for missing a single start during the season, or falling more than a minute below promise. Haven’t seen it myself, so it isn’t “normal”, but as should be expected in a probability based game, you are taking a calculated risk by skimping at all on the promises you make.
