Has anyone else had a player gain WE and transfer? Y'all are really skating around my question.

Lol why did he gain WE, including a one-day jump from like -3 to 0. I've heard people need to lose like 10 WE to transfer.
Don’t even pay attention to his WE. If he sends the first email, you’re not in the clear until you get the “Thanks coach!” happy email. I’ve heard of guys transferring finishing much closer to 25 than 19. Some have said they’ve seen guys transfer for missing a single start during the season, or falling more than a minute below promise. Haven’t seen it myself, so it isn’t “normal”, but as should be expected in a probability based game, you are taking a calculated risk by skimping at all on the promises you make.
Thanks for the help shoe. So basically it's a total risk that they transfer, even with an outside chance, even with the WE gain.

Youre an dioti. What happened was in the past. I can't change that. I'm trying to focus on the future

That's also been answered. Don't make promises you can't keep or, conversely, keep the promises you make.

I've never had a guy transfer because I broke promises. Are you sure about who is the actual idiot?

Like others said, in the future you should:
- set him to "Getting Tired".
- run Slowdown offense.

Not sure, but reducing his Distribution might help to keep him fresh too (helps his stamina and you can avoid charges which might send him to the bench).

So I got this 5-star recruit. He's a stud. Relatively Low stamina (72) but had to promise him 25 minutes to keep an idiotic B- at moderate. So he was at 19 minutes and had lost 3-5 WE points (I don't really remember) through a couple games. So I get an angry email. Try to raise minutes but it doesn't do **** and I get the second one. He's ******. Then I get his minutes up (not to 25) but he's happy again and he gains 2 WE Points throughout the season. The last 22 days of the season he gained 5 WE points (from like -3 to +2) and I got no bad emails. He just transferred. What in the ******* world can I do to prevent getting shafted in the future?
Keep your promises.

I promised a guy 25 mins last season. I gave him 25. He didn't transfer.

It's funny. Even an idiot like me knows to keep a low stamina, low IQ freshman on the floor for 25 minutes is to run slowdown and choose the "leave in longer" option. I guess the super smart OP didn't know this. Or that you should keep promises.

Slowdown is good advice for promises. This guy stayed close enough to 25 to not complain all year, despite a starting stamina of 44.

Using target minutes through the regular season can also be helpful, especially if you have more than one promise to keep.

You basically have one shot. If he whines and you do not take care of it and he whines again, he will get happier if you fulfill your promise but will transfer anyways. So one wrong, APPLY what you promised. Two wrongs, he is gone. That is what I experienced so far.

In cubs defense, it wasn't all his fault after reading the game logs. The f*cker couldn't stay out of foul trouble. He was averaging 3.1 fouls per game.

One of the reasons I stopped running FCP was because it's hard to play a freshman 25mpg , since he'll foul more often on average and get into foul trouble and his stamina will be at his lowest point throughout his career.

Sometimes, if I'm playing a really bad team, I'll go slowdown and let him play all 40 minutes, so I don't have to worry about him getting PT throughout the season.

in 2.0 the 80-90% rule applied, but seble clearly changed something. In 3.0 I'm getting complaints with players playing 23.x MPG after promising 25.

Another issue I've found is that if you have a team of starters with 90+ in ath and def and you bring in that 5th guy to start as freshman with 70-80 ath/def ratings, he'll tend to pick up more fouls than normal, compared to a team of players with 60 in Ath/Def.

Yeah, the weak link gets attacked, whether you’re playing a human or a sim.

Promises are a powerful recruiting tool, but they have consequences.

I also put him in "leave longer" for foul trouble. BTW Tejada was at 22 mpg before the CT.

The problem may have been since he wasn't happy going into the CT, you needed to make it up to him by getting him the minutes in the CT and the NT.

There was a similar situation not too long ago, where a coach thought he was in the clear and then didn't play him much in the CT/NT and ended up losing that player.
