Just took over a project D3 team in Crum and am wondering what everyones most effective defense and offense have been to run? I have another school in Rupp and have always ran a Triangle offense and a Full-Court Press defense and that has seemed to work. Just looking for opinions of users with other systems.

Keep in mind that I only play on the D3 level.

My standard is Motion/Man. I think those are kind of the simplest and most versatile. With others it seems like you have to recruit very specific players. For motion/man I kind of feel like you have a bit more versatility in personnel.

I've recently switched 2 teams to FB/Zone, and am kind of enjoying the early results.

Those two sets are based around speed. You sacrifice a little ATH and DEF for more speed. And since your guards are heavy on speed you want to make sure a few have high PER and/or BH (and FT if BH only) and center your offense around them.

Motion/Press is the perfect combo!

I like the press for defense...I actually have teams with flex, motion and triangle that I've paired with it just to see if there's a different feel to anything with the various combinations.

They pretty much all work well together.

I like combo press/zone defenses. I like triangle going with a 2-3 base, and flex with a 3-2 base.

FB/press is very effective, especially at lower levels, but it’s less fun if you like to coach (can’t slow down, can’t double, harder to exploit positional advantages). You have fewer options, and you’re pretty much letting others take their best shots against you. But it is pretty strong, if you’re able to consistently get the personnel for it.
