52 games in so obviously it could turn around but my team seems to be playing worse.

And full disclosure...this post is probably out of frustration but has anyone seen a drop in record of 25-30 wins when your team hasn't changed one year to the next and may have even slightly improved? Across the board I would say every single one of my core players is having a career worst season so I guess I was curious if anyone has experienced it over a full season with no real explanation.

That completely makes sense, thank you. I just lost 2 in a row at home to a team that is 16-40 ...so that 12 in a row isn't starting today!

Sometimes that win streak never comes. Check season 33:
35 loudawg10 ML 101-61 .623 1st No Yes yes no no
34 loudawg10 ML 93-69 .574 1st No Yes no no no
33 loudawg10 ML 63-99 .389 3rd No No
32 loudawg10 ML 90-72 .556 1st No Yes no no no

There was no major injury. I hadn't lost any major players. In fact, I picked up a couple type As thinking I was on the WS contention path. Everything went wrong all at the same time.

At the end of the day, its still a RNG. You can mitigate the risk by getting the best players possible, but given a large enough sample, you are eventually going to run into occurrences where there is an extended series of results not in your favor. If your team is good, you'll come out of it eventually.

I've been getting gut punched in the playoffs the last 3 seasons, being basically noncompetitive in series where I was the higher seed so I had decided I would enjoy my regular season success a little more since a WS title may never come no matter how good of a team I may be able to put together...so this is extra disappointing!

A zoomed-in, prime example of the variation inherent in this game is my third baseman. His skills haven’t declined at all and check out his season last year vs this year (same hitting coach too):

If you average the previous season with where you are so far, it's .258. Just about his career average.

Back on topic... I had virtually the same team go from 106 to 88 wins recently. It is what it is.

My teams consistently under-perform every season. Anyone got a solution for that?
