We have one opening in the 16th season (1998/99 and 1999/00) of a double season progressive which started with the 1968/69 & 1969/70 seasons. We progress 2 seasons at a time. Each season owners are able to select which of the 2 seasons they will use for each of their players, if the player was WIS eligible in both seasons. There will be adequate players available.
The team available is the Minnesota Timberwolves (name can be changed and city moves can be made to an unoccupied city which fits geographically in the Midwest Division). We will be ready to begin the draft on about April 10.
With 15 games left in the 1996/97 and 1997/98 season the Timberwolves have a record of 32-33, 5th in the Midwest Division and will probably be drafting around 8th to 10th in the 24 team league.
Since we progress 2 seasons at a time, player turnover in the league is rapid. Rookies for the 1998/99 and 1999/00 season include Dirk Nowitzki, Paul Pierce, Vince Carter, Shawn Marion, Elton Brand, Jason Terry, Antawn Jamison, Andre Miller and Lamar Odom.
Minnesota has their own 1st round pick, has traded their 2nd round pick but has their own and Washington's 3rd round picks.
The current owner has posted a suggested keeper list for the Timberwolves (subject to change by a new owner), which I have posted in the immediately following post.
This is a stable league with relatively low turnover. There are approximately 10 seasons left in the life of this league, This is the first opening in the last 3 seasons !
