Is there a mechanism to rehab ML players returning from injury?

No. Players put on the DL in any form (15/60 day for ML, 7/60 day for MiL) get an injury recovery cycle when they complete their DL stint, if the end of the DL stint is between spring training and game 161 of the ML regular season. Players on the DL don't play at any level while they're on the DL.
