I'm seeing a pitcher prospect who looks pretty great everywhere but control. This is with a 20 scouting budget, btw...

Right-handed
26 Durability
72 Stamina
95 vL
89 vR
44 Vel
70 GB/FB

55 Control (ouch!)

I'm not sure what to think of him. Obviously everyone has their own sliding scale, but what's the threshold for the lowest control you will accept?

Would you be OK with this guy out of the bullpen, but not as a starter?

Assuming he met those projections, he will be very close to an ace.

Agree with strikeout. He's better than my guy Cliff Barker. Barker is a #3 starter on most clubs.

Feddie and Billy are similar guys in your league and again, that guy is better

55 Control should be enough for that player. His WHIP will end up higher than his ERA would indicate; it’ll be offset by low OAV.

I’ve gone as low as 40 Control for RPs and LRs, when you control how many innings they get. Small samples.

Never had a full time SP with control less than 50. Not a hard and fast rule, just never had one good enough to try it.

The one thing I might worry about is how fuzzy your 20 mil scouting is. Be a shame if you draft him and find out his current Control is only about 25. All depends how you feel about that risk.

Solid SP2-3. Just a few too many 3-run homers after walks to be an ace.

Since you were 58-104 last season, there's probably someone out there better than he for your very high draft pick-- but I'd be happy drafting him in the pick 5-10 range.

He's an international guy.

How old is he?

18

The older IFAs are, the more accurate their projections are supposed to be. (We were told that was how it's supposed to work, anyway.) But the older ones don't develop as much. I prefer to get the 18s; I actually think they're a bit more projectable than 18yo High Schoolers.

Don't know what the IFA competition in your world is like but I'd have to imagine someone should be willing to pay big for him.

I'm big on control and rarely look at guys under 60 but his splits are high enough I would be bidding on him. Even if he ends up 47 control with 85Vl and 79VR he is worth bidding on

Yeah, I've already been priced out. Still interesting to see everyone's views on him.
