Has the SIM been hacked? Topic

I don't know any other way to explain how my top 25 Nationally Ranked St. John's team in Phelan, after losing exhibition games to a #9 and #14 by 2 points each (one in OT) can lose (and by over 10 points) to a Manhattan Team (SIM managed last few seasons) that has a starting 5 averaging over 100 skill points/man under my team and was a 35 point underdog. Somehow that same Manhattan team managed to be a sweet 16 finisher last season-ridiculous.

Can anyone see another explanation?

Maybe someone has a user ID named SIM - that would be kind of cool.

I lost to a garbage sim last night too!

Their C with 45 Per goes 2-2 from 3. PF with 49 Per goes 1-1 from 3.

I dunno man, it happens. At least it wasn't in the postseason.

I like that. Don't think it explains the skill set/loss discrepancy, but it's a clever idea.

Your fatigue was pretty bad. You have basically no depth and your Bigs have bad stamina. I'd go slowdown if I were you.

Thanks, Benis, I think you're right, normal speed might be wrong for this squad. Manhattan was playing normal speed but pressing and that might have been a good part of the problem. I'll slowdown and see what happens in today's game.

I've considered this! Maybe using Sim A1. Or sim AI. Or Sim Al (with a lowercase "L" in "Al").

i'm sure it's been thought of, or attempted. CS probably wouldn't allow it to be used

Preseason rankings mean absolutely nothing in RL or sim.

Actually preseason rankings are pretty good for predicting the season in RL.

Nice article. that same thinking would translate to HD. If I remember correctly, the preseason top 25 formula is based off core ratings of each team’s top players.

Steve, what does your id stand for? The DSM airport by chance?

I'm not following... they're not related at IMO. You have a computer just spitting out projections while in real life you have human beings assessing who will be good that season.

Yes it must have been hacked because a
sim has never upset a human coach in the thousands of games played on here

Only related in the sense that the preseason rankings are only an evaluation of talent.

Have you ever had a team in the top 25? I doubt it.
