Yeah...I wasn't expecting getting to keep Hubbell AND Marichal...had to cut costs elsewhere as a result. Also, glad to keep Walker Cooper given the dearth of other competent Giants backstops.

Why would I need Gibson or Brecheen? I already have Koufax, Wyatt and Cooper. That's 900+ innings of starting pitching. And with respect to losing Musial I purposely left him unprotected hoping he would get taken. I have plenty of OF's to choose from (Medwick, Slaughter, H.Walker, J.Hopp) and Johnny Mize at 1B. I really didn't want to lose the Cardinal's strong relievers (Hearn, Pollet) like the other Cardinals owner did.

I'm ready to step in with a 2nd team but want to give others the first shot.

Teams still available include; Pirates, Indians, Cubs, Phillies, Reds, White Sox, Browns/Orioles, Senator/Twins, A's, Red Sox, Braves

I'm not surprised no one has taken A's. They were perpetual cellar dwellers after the '30's until Charlie O. moved them to Oakland.

Frank Robinson was protected so you will have to select a different Red.

That was very brave of northof49 taking the A's...maybe a while though before some else steals from them..You may be looking at your 2nd team commish.

I'd classify myself as more stupid than brave FBD, so I'll try joining with the Indians and protect Bob Lemon and Bob Feller and steal Bob Johnson, Bob Cerv and Ferris Fain.

The lower cap makes crappier teams more palatable. Heck, I can't even afford to roster the $10M Medwick on my Cardinals team.

The two pitchers I stole (Chandler and Gomez) plus Williams and Foxx are running me $41M. We'll see how good a recipe that is when I squeeze 21 other guys into $64M. I have a roster at the moment, but I'm going to keep trying to improve it.
