Getting Elton Brand this late is pretty amazing. There were better players available than Jose Calderon, but drafting with $47 million is always difficult for me.

that's why I like Kidd at this cap level - several different useful/affordable seasons give me some flexibility in later rounds

Yeah, there are a bunch of good guys who can give you that flexibility. It's a good idea. Not that I actually do it, but it's a good idea.
