Hi guys, I want to start a theme league where, in each conference, each team has a randomly assigned 5 years span, where 1 is from 2014 to 2018 and 12 is from 1959 to 1963.
I was thinking about a high cap, like 58, to have more fun, and maybe give 60 to the ones who pick a time span in the 70's or 60's.
Who would be in?

Also, if any of you has any suggestion, I am more than open to hear them!

The idea is good, but owners know the NBA SIM is so biased towards today's players that there would only be 1 or 2 possible winners.

A high cap wouldn't work well for this type of theme.

Perhaps instead of consecutive 5 year periods, have the owners of each conference draft years? Or, if you want random, group them: (2014,1997,1985,1978.1961), (2007,2004,1992,1972,1968), (2008,2003,1991,1972,1967), etc

This is a great idea! Sorry, I am new, how would it work with draft?

For drafts you typically use a snake drat, 1-24 then 24-1 then 24-1 then 1-24. If you want 24 teams you'd need to limit them to 2 years/team as there are only 66 seasons available. This would be a 2 rd draft. Or you could allow 2 instances of a single season and have a 4 rd draft.
If you want to group 5 random years you'd need to put a little research and thought into it and instead of a draft just have the years randomly assigned to each owner.
I am fairly new at this as well.
