Promising minutes is a choice. You don't want the risk? Don't promise the minutes.

I personally have not seen any change in the logic and considering they took a year to update the champions page I seriously doubt they actually did anything to it.

Now I will patiently wait for shoe to come on here and agree with me.

It definitely went from 80% of promised minutes and starts to anything not meeting the requirements and they probably did it during the construction of 3.0. Since promised minutes and starts potentially have more value, with the "wants to play" preference, I could see them making this change.

Did you have any of your players hit just above 80% and not meet the minutes requirements for 3 consecutive games? I'm thinking maybe that's what it is then.

I might do this intentionally (fail to meet minutes for three consecutive) just to see what happens. I'm curious.

I just make sure my guys get the minutes I promised ¯\_('_')_/¯ makes it much easier.

In this recent example, this guy is getting 82% of the possible PT.

I've got a problem...
I'm guessing it's not easy being a coach with everyone asking you for everything, but I'm only seeing 21 minutes of court time now - you did promise that I'd get to play at least 25 minutes a game - I'm assuming that's going to change soon?

The complaint email came after the 7th game. If the 80% rule is still in effect, what triggered the email?

Well if it came after the 7th game, its accurate. Of those 7 you only had 1 game where he topped 25 minutes (game 1 with 28) and 1 game AT 25 minutes (game 6).

The rest were all under 25. I'm willing to bet if that 3rd game in which he played 11 minutes, would've been more like 22 minutes, you may have not got the email. That game alone probably did it

Not that I would've made a huge difference, but the 6th game he did hit 25.

I'm thinking it's the 3 in a row and the 7th game might be a chance to redeem yourself to get over the 25 MPG average, that's why it did't hit after the 5th game.

if it's not 3 in a row, it could be a 50% rule, where if you come within 80% of your target minutes, he would've had to play at least 25 minutes in 4 of those 7 games.

I don't have the answers. But I just don't feel like there's any rule. Every player is different. Every everything is different. It could be based on time segments, in the same way grades are. Like check points. It could be calculated every game. I'm not sure any of us know if there is an exact formula for every example. But it looks like you're getting his minutes up since that 7th game, so stick with it.

Coach, this may not mean a lot to you, but well, I'm pretty much a laughing stock around campus - I told everyone that they could put it the bank I'd see at least 25 minutes of action every game. You're making me look like a fool by only playing me 22 minutes per game. Why would you promise me that?
