I've never DONE the senior redshirt trick everyone talks about. Well I decided to give it a shot after trying other players and watching their WE plummet.

So I tried a senior.... with a 66 WE.... and he accepted. With 0 WE drop!!

have others seen that before?! I've always thought they dropped to 1 WE. And no where in between. Just 1 WE period.

is this ground breaking and everyone will now send tickets complaining about me? (The player is at D2 Coker in Naismith. Center Richard Thibault)

Exactly!!

Never personally had a senior not drop WE after being redshirted, maybe others have.

A three-year starter being OK with sitting out...what are the odds...

Have had a we drop every single time.

This is semi-groundbreaking

I kinda thought so also. And the message sent from the recruit was one of the standard ones. "..... extra season to work on my game is ok with me coach".

it definitely caught me off guard

Like basically every other simulated choice in this game, it’s based on probability. I’d guess the odds are pretty low for a senior to not get mad at a redshirt, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

Since this has come up again.....just go ahead and RS a senior at beginning of season? Or try to bench and throw on end of season? Seems risky. Never done it and makes me nervous how much I will wreck him for next season when he would start.

It doesnt always drop to one but it usually does. I've never seen any Sr.s Take a rs without penalty before.

If he's not maxed out, try to wait for the end of the season. If he is, it matters much less.

That’s the problem. He’s not quite maxed out. But I’m in a roster crunch so may have to pull trigger. Thanks.

Well I decided to start with a Soph and he took it. Can move my SR redshirt target to a starting spot and it will benefit the team.
