So I just moved up to D2 for the first time. I'm excited, but nervous. Wondering if everyone could give me their best advice about what to do differently or how to approach things differently moving up the level

Learn the Advanced settings Right Away. They aren't hard. Set them and your playbooks up. Set up practice plans. Depth Charts.
Might wanna read two threads pinned to top of GD Forum :Fantastic Advice and Guide To The Game.
As you learn enough to realize Which aspects you need help with, Ask Specific questions about Specific topics.
Most coaches don't like general questions, like:What should I know now ? Too broad.(speaking about two broads.....Well we'll save that for another day :)

I'm glad we were all able to help.:) Yeah, follow mojo's advice as far as going through those forum threads, then ask more specific questions when you start getting deeper into it.

The settings are not that complicated.

I bet you will love them once you get comfortable and wonder why D3 babies everyone

D2 is a lot of fun. You get the chance to recruit nationally in a way you can't at other levels. Take the chance to go crazy especially if you are looking to advance to higher levels.

To some extent , true. But set a budget and don't go over it or you will end up with players picked by the AI that are horrible.

Don't overthink it. Some of the options you are given are helpful .... but some aren't. Go in with an open mind and consider this as a computer program to figure out rather than a football sim. If you base your choices on football logic you will not have success. Recruiting and roster management have by far the most impact.
