First select an MVP or Cy Young Award Winner from the years 1931-2017 from this list from baseball-reference.com: http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/mvp_cya.shtml. Then, build your best $100M lineup using the roster of your chosen player's team from his award winning year. If your chosen MVP/CY played for more than 1 team in the year he won his award, you must choose 1 of those teams from which to build your roster. You may then twist your roster players to any season in their careers. Your chosen MVP/CY player must be included on your roster, and can also be twisted. To make things more interesting, you are also permitted to use 1 batter and 1 pitcher who were not on your chosen MVP/CY's roster as wild cards. However, those players must come from the same season as your MVP/CY choice and can't be twisted.

For example, say you choose Lefty Grove of the 1931 A's. You could then use 1 batter and 1 pitcher from other 1931 teams (e.g. 1931 Babe Ruth & 1931 Carl Hubbell), but those players can't be twisted. Your other 23 players would need to have appeared on the roster of the 1931 A's per baseball-reference.com, but those 23 players can be twisted to any season of their careers.


No more than one owner can choose the same MVP/CY, even if that player won the award in more than one season. Although each owner’s MVP/CY is exclusive, other teams may include that player on their team if he was on the team roster of their MVP/CY, or as one of their wild card players. No AAA, WW, DH, clones or trades. Use your chosen MVP/CY’s home field from that year, or WIS Park if the correct field isn’t in the WIS database. Alignment will be random, but adjustments may be necessary if any owners enter more than one team. Also, it's possible that more than 1 owner could use the same team if both the MVP and CY winners in a season came from the same team, in which case those teams will be placed in separate leagues.
