DEAL 11 (Draft 'Em All League)--FINISHED Topic

Since people have picked does the time move up?
7/29/2018 10:15 PM
the time slots on the clock monday remain the same but northof49 can jump in anytime prior to his time slot and make his pick...……….. and so on .

once on the clock we can get hours ahead of the schedule but once you miss your time slot on the clock you can be bypassed.

We have a trade to announce!!

To The Cleveland Plane Dealer Nearly New Jets:
61, 397, 482

To Kelly1:
116, 164, 212
This seems like a pretty lop-sided deal.

In my deal with skinndog I sent picks #1 and #96 (total of 97) for picks #21 and #28 (49 total). I improve by a total of 47 slots or an average of 24 per pick (roughly netted a full round per pick which I thought was perhaps just on the edge of reasonableness).

THIS deal sends 61,397,482 (total of 940) for 116,164,212 (total of 492). This is an improvement of 448 slots or an average of 116 slots per pick, which translates to roughly 4.5 Round Improvement Per Pick!! That's like trading a 2nd ,3rd, and 4th rounder for a 7th, 8th and 9th.

Am I missing something?
Why didn't you either make the deal or comment on it earlier? There was an open offer of this exact trade in this forum made to everyone at 7/28/2018 1:46 PM and the trade was posted at 7/29/2018 7:34 PM. So everyone had about 28 hours to say something. I thought about it for a day and decided to not wait to see who was available in the third round when my pick is up, and I took the deal that was offered.

I never saw it posted and still don't see the post to which you refer.

I'd be glad to compare trade value philosophies (spoiler, we don't agree) but I suggest we do that in a commentary forum and not here.

I think dippedncrack calculation for trade value is a little off.
I was thinking about taking Motorboat up on that one too, but then that would have left me without a 2nd or 3rd round pick. You can’t just go by draft choices and add them up to see what would be equal. Because when you look at this your way, I can see why you think it isn’t a fair trade.

To The Cleveland Plane Dealer Nearly New Jets:
61, 397, 482 = 940

To Kelly1:
116, 164, 212=492

You are not taking into account how much more valuable pick 61 is. Kelly is giving up a 3rd round pick. That is a fairly big deal. The one thing I noticed with later rounds, the players you value rarely equal the players other people value. But those first few rounds, most of the players are pretty consistent consensus as worthy high draft choices.

Also, the NFL has a chart for draft trade point analysis.

You can’t really compare it to our draft, but it is similar. Giving more “points” to the higher draft picks, and less to the later round draft picks.

Either way, it is all in fun. : )

I'm not sure we dont agree - I think you got an absolute highway robbery of a deal and if you didn't think so, I can't imagine you would have done the deal.

Oh I am taking into acount how valuable that pick is, along with how value 5,7,9 is to picks in the mid-teens.
7/30/2018 11:39 AM
And my calculation I am just using as a comparative guideline - the numbers certainly dont have to be equal to be fair. I do suggest that a pick value difference of nearly 500 for a total of 3 picks is extreme and evidence of a one-sided trade.

OK, then how about this.

I'll trade you picks 36 and 109 (total = 145) for picks 21 and 551 (total = 572) with a value added to you of 427.

Confirmed?
