This will be a 25 round silent auction (okay it's not really an auction but that sounds cooler than “request”).
Once we get 24 owners, each team will site-mail me the name of one player they want on their roster. If NOBODY else requests that player, that team gets them (whatever version/season they choose). Any player who is requested by 2 or more teams immediately gets blacklisted from all rosters and is off the board going forward. The teams that don’t get their first request will then submit a second name and we repeat this process until all teams have their first player. That will be round 1.
We then repeat that entire process for the remaining 24 roster positions, or rounds.
Players are exclusive, so if someone makes a successful request, that player is off the board for other teams.
Yes. . . . the blacklist could get quite large, and this might take a while, but it will be fun and should produce some very interesting rosters. Do you request a high-end player hoping others will “assume” they won’t get him and you sneak one by? Or do you look for someone that you think will get overlooked in a given round?
As commish, I will send my pick to one of the first few submitters each round BEFORE I open any requests.
Please make the subject of your site-mail “Request - X.Y” where X is the round 1-25 and Y is the request iteration within that round. That will help me keep them straight in my inbox.
If an owner submits a player who is on the blacklist or has already been selected, that request will be treated as if it is a matching request; that is, that owner will need to wait until the next iteration in that round to submit another request.
