I would hope nobody here would stoop to that level, but like Jtpsops says, most who are already signed up are good long-time owners who want to have fun with the silent auction.

I actually think it would be very difficult for anyone to cheat except for NebHusker. Otherwise, there would need to be collusion between a large number of owners (i.e. if two owners collude, there are still 22 others who may take their choices). If NebHusker were to look at players before sending his own out, we could confirm by the time he sends his sitemail out (either that or we would tell when he won 130+ games :)).

Neither seems like an issue to me.

It is possible two owners could say "I'll take Walsh, you take Alexander", or something along those lines, to eliminate one possible source of your player being blacklisted. That by no means guarantees anything though.

And quite honestly, I think the suspense will be the most intriguing factor of this league. Submitting your player and then crossing your fingers while you wait to find out if you've "won" or not.

Yeah, but if I saw I'll take Walsh and you say you'll take Alexander, there are still 22 owners who could take one of them. You only improve your chances by about 4%. Since it's only likely that this would happen for highly desirable players, I think the benefit is likely even smaller than that and not worth the trouble, even if someone is meanspirited :)

If I'm going to go as far as trying to conspire to get something, it's gonna be for something truly worth getting at any cost.

I'm curious to see what types/talent level of players will be requested in the last couple rounds, i.e. what will be left at that point. . . . gonna suck if you're crossing your fingers that you get Butch Henry!
