This is always a fun discussion.

Good list Dino....... and it's Barry McGuire!
Loved the Edison Lighthouse pick AND Blues Image Ride Captain Ride I always LOVED that song.
Both you and Wylie nailed the King Harvest cut............

BUT, my favorite one hit wonder is a great one for this list.

The Lemon Pipers --- Green Tambourine

Plus there's always

Incense & Peppermints by The Strawberry Alarm Clock
I Love You by The People (always gets a the nod!)

Wylie's pick of Tommy Tutone should be on any list as well as his pick of Billy Paul's classic and the Free stomp!
Tainted Love is a swell pick, too.

I'll probably edit this and add a few more.

actually i saw king harvest on wylie's list and had to include it.
you cant buy the original edison lighthouse song anymore..not available...they did a reasonable but not as good remake in the 90s i think.

I really tried to get Dean Martin on my list, since I'm named after the guy, but my favorite Martin albums are all 1960-64. Interesting that we both picked the same exact Sinatra albums. For me, those two are some of the finest albums for any genre in any period.

City of New Orleans - Arlo Guthrie...Good Mornin' America, how are you?

Harden My Heart - Quarterflash...(cool saxophone riff)
Puttin' on the Ritz - Taco
Kung Fu Fighting - Carl Douglas...Everybody was kung fu fightin', HUT!

Walking on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves

gomiami, that quarterflash song is very good...that whole album is decent.
not sure I'd consider Arlo Guthrie a one hit wonder..he is at least a 2 hit wonder...Alice's Restaurant

Alice's is, what, 18 minutes long? I'm generally defaulting to Billboard rankings rather than cultural impact.
