STONE TRIAL and PARDONS

should be over this week...resumes tomorrow.......prosecution will rest either tomorrow or wednesday.
remains to be seen if stone will take the stand.
his sole defense seems to be that he should not be taken seriously.
a kind of insanity defense.

a lot of people are praying for a pardon..
there is manafort......stone probably.......flynn probably..
guliani has a future in court and is praying for a pardon.
if trump is kicked out i guess no window for pardons after.
otherwise pardons would need to wait until after nov. 2020.

before then stone and most probably flynn will join manafort in jail.
btw..manafort's former son in law just got sentenced for 9 years unrelated.
gates i would think will not go to jail for cooperation but could get 1 - 6 months anyway.
cohen will obviously not get a pardon.

thats a lot of jailed people within a first term.

it will be a good time soon for a treatise book on presidential pardons and commutations - the history and distinction and notable examples of each throughout history.

DACCA ON DOCKET TUESDAY - ORAL ARGUMENTS BEFORE SUPREME COURT

on Teusday the SUPREME COURT is hearing oral arguments on whether it was lawful for trump to repeal dacca.
millions of lives are in the balance....
this is a major story developing on Tuesday
sometime tomorrow we will learn what chief justice roberts asked and his overall demeaner....and possible leanings.

GEORGE BUSH THE FIRST

George Bush the first campaigned on no new taxes and said read my lips....by all accounts he did not intend or want to raise taxes.
then he decided it was mandatory for the stability of the economy that he did raise taxes so he reluctantly did.
whether he was right or wrong.....he put country first way before himself....he alienated republicans and was a one term president...maybe the best.
that is what it means to be a president.

After his only term, Polk went home and died. Worked his arse off and was all used up. Right or wrong it was for Country.

i hope the volume 5 of the caro lbj series comes out soon.
a little known fact is that johnson considered nixon to be a traitor..literally - under united states law.
felt he should be prosecuted......not exaggerating.
believed nixon made a secret deal with s. .vietnam to quash a peace deal until he - nixon became president.
this is a mighty big deal.
nixon through a channel got s. vietnam to squash a cease fire on his promise that when he became pres. they would win.
george will has recently confirmed this did happen.

next are closing arguments...the jury could start delberating tomorrow or friday.

gates was in car with trump ......trump spoke to stone on phone.
technically trump said he could not recall as if you could forget that kind of conversation..
