Forget where he was but Pablo Cruz was my favorite. Played for the San Diego Yacht Rockers I believe.

(For you youngsters Pablo Cruise was a very smooth soft rock band from the late 1970s).

So, the name isn't funny but the back story I came up for him is.

I had a player in the Minor leagues named Bob Jackson that was a very very terrible minor league player.

So I'm imagining a guy like a WWF wrestling jobber, who bought out all of the 'Bo knows baseball' signs and merchandise and added with red pain and additional, crudely drawn b at the end so it says 'BOb knows baseball'.
He then walks up to the plate and goes down swinging on three pitches as the crowd boos. (this continues for 600 plate appearances each season)

Not many good player names in TBH but the first two seasons of coaches I had Lawrence Priest, with Luther Chiasson and my personal all-time favorite Posiedon Ritz on the Las Vegas One Arm Bandits. Several other names just suited the team in name alone. You could see them out in the desert armed and on horseback.
