My utility infielder Wilson Valdez pitched one scoreless inning in 2011. 4 batters, 3 outs, 1 H B P, and got the win! I can,t remember why he pitched, but I remember his teammates going crazy because he got the win.

Just found the story, 19th inning, out of pitchers, C Carlos Ruiz was at 3B, utility inf Michael Martinez was in CF, Cinn and Philly both out of hitters. Both Votto and Jay Bruce flied out to Martinez, Final out was a Cinn pitcher pinch hitting!

Excellent, ddodge02--welcome! I'm going to assign you Stan Clarke as your ghost, because he played in six different seasons but didn't make the WIS database--he deserves a minute of our attention.

Also, impressive list of managers for this talented but underperforming squad (Herzog, Schoendienst, Torre). That's a lot of turnover within one year...

Fatguyrd, since your first team is in the AL (newer teams), a second team should be in the NL. But a team from 1983 would put you right on the cusp. Can we wait and see where the next batch of teams land?

In the meantime, I should make my pick. I'll go with the 1972 Orioles. Ghost is Sergio Robles.
