Defense is always most important, in all sets, all the time, when calculating ofg%.
when it comes to spd and ath, it depends on what type of team you are playing. If they shoot a lot of 3’s then speed is most important. If they are a ath/lp team ath is
ore important.
Even against a Ath/Lp team, wouldn’t it come down to the Ath and def of my 4 and 5? If their guards are attacking won’t they be going up against my bigs? Or would my guards ath still come in to play there?
All divisions, all the time, all situations....defense is always the most valuable variable in the defense metric to decide if a shot goes in.
In zone, all the players scores are averaged. The SB of your center in the 2-3 helps stop 3ftga and the speed of your pg helps against a dunk.
In a 3-2, the 1-2-3 are calculared something like 50% DEF 30% SPD 20% ATH, 4-5 are something like 40% DEF 25% block 25% ATH, 10% speed/
In the 2-3 it's more like 50% DEF, 40% SPD, 10% ATH for the 1-2, 40% DEF, 30% ATH, 20% Block, 10% speed and for the 5 40% DEF, 35% Block, 25% ath.
These #'s are just rough estimates....
