Cobbfather S41 - FULL Topic

Cobbfather, a laid back, active, very competitive world with many veteran owners, has rolled over and is looking for owners for Season 41!

Our primary world rule is to treat others with respect. No personal attacks via world chat, trade chat, trade proposals or any other form of communication. There are no minimum win requirements, restrictions on moving cities, salary cap rules, IFA restrictions, etc. This format has worked well for us to date.

Below are details on the known available teams for next season. The city where the team played in Season 40 is listed, but may be moved by the new owner to any available city. Reserve one of these teams and get in on a great world! Post here or sitemail me if interested.

We have filled for Season 41 - see you back in a few months for Season 42!

Our Commissioner asked us to say something nice about our world in hopes that you would join. So I wrote a poem.

COBBFATHER

Puddles are wet.
Oceans are wetter.
When it comes to fake baseball
No world is better

For those of you looking for a quick turnaround to join the playoff mix the available team will give you just that. This team started with just 2 owners handling the reins for the 1st 35 seasons but has been passed around a little the last few. However last season they did take their division and with someone knowledgeable at the controls you could make a serious run for the trophy. If you have the skills to take over a team positioned to win it all then contact alogman1 now. For those of you thinking it's easy to win a trophy with an already successful team I can assure you it isn't and the pressure to make the right moves will humble even the most experienced of players. So show us what your made of before someone beats you to the punch.

Here's a review of the available team:

Former Augusta (91-71, 1st in NL East, #23 pick in Season 41 draft)

This team has had multiple owners since season 35, which makes this proud franchise seem unstable. However last season they came away with the division crown and could be ready to make a serious run if some parts are added to the nucleus in place. The offense needs help. A .258 team batting avg and no one hitting more than 18 HRs shows a need for more power and some bats to set the table.

The pitching staff on the other hand is solid and will keep this team in games long enough for the bats to produce. Samuel Ramirez (12-5, 2.16) & Humberto Zurbaran (17-5, 2.93) lead the rotation. On the back end of the staff, Bob Berg converted 38 save opportunities and with a respectable 3.30 ERA. While another setup man and 5th starter would improve this team the offense should be the top priority.

Adding more offense is typically easier than finding pitching and to give this team a better shot at taking home the trophy it has to be addressed in the off season. This should be a good challenge for a experienced owner as the missing pieces are acquires. If a newbie took on this team it has the talent to compete while gaining the experience to figure out this wacky game.

Contact alogman1 if you're interested.
