I'm seeing a lot of right handed starters with really low HR/9 (<0.25) and >2 ERC# in the $130M theme where everyone has high average hitting teams. I think they are going to get destroyed by all the left handed average hitters...probably to the tune of 5.50-6.50 ERA lol.
Thru 9 games so far, here is the composition of the 25 pitchers who have allowed the most ERs (in my $130m league):
11 pitchers who meet all the criteria. The lowest ERA is 5.79, and 8 have ERAs >7.
1933 Carl Hubbell x 4, who meets all the criteria except he is left handed. The lowest ERA is 4.71, but 3 have ERAs >5.50.
1942 Mort Cooper x 2, who meets all the criteria except having a HR/9 of 0.29 and the lowest ERA is 7.02.
2001 Randy Johnson, who meets all the criteria except being left handed and having a HR/9 of 0.68. He has an ERA of 6.61 (why he was rostered, I have no idea)
1997 Roger Clemens with an ERA of 7.30.
1985 John Tudor with an ERA of 8.49.
1999 Pedro Martinez with an ERA of 7.62.
1968 Luis Tiant with an ERA of 7.50.
1994 Greg Maddux with an ERA of 10.38.
1986 Mike Scott with an ERA of 6.75.
1964 Dean Chance with an ERA of 4.26.
Can't say these results are that surprising - most of these pitchers were extremely risky picks and are getting lit up. Some of the pitchers on the list are unlucky and should turn around their seasons soon enough.
