Definitely player-seasons.

In the 110 league, I know a number of teams went with Speaker, but I wonder how many of those teams have the same three Speakers.
I did the Speakers and went with '10, '17, and '27 (Red Sox, Indians, Senators/Twins).

I'm kind of surprised that anyone went with the A's version of Speaker. '27 Speaker is very usable as a starter at this cap, but '28 Speaker just seems like wasted money. At best, the very weak half of a platoon. I guess if someone feels those A's players really make up the team though.
I took the A's version too as it was cheap ABs and I preferred the A's bullpen options (and I at one point had Rickey in there although I had to downgrade at some point). I also have 1913 and 1922.

I'm running with '14, '23 and '27 Speakers.

1913, 1923, 1927. $24M of goodness.

This is just an unimportant observation from WIS baseball that always kind of bugged me. Back in my younger days, when I would actually read a newspaper, the MLB standings always had the American League on the Left (first), and the National League on the right (last).

In WIS the National League is up top (first), and the American league is on the bottom (last).

That just seems unnatural to me. To the powers that be, please change it. The obsessive compulsive in me would appreciate it.

Technically, as the older and "Senior" circuit, the NL should come first.

But ya, it is odd that most places do AL on top. Even the MLB.com standings page has AL first.

I'm seeing a lot of right handed starters with really low HR/9 (<0.25) and >2 ERC# in the $130M theme where everyone has high average hitting teams. I think they are going to get destroyed by all the left handed average hitters...probably to the tune of 5.50-6.50 ERA lol.

I'm seeing and thinking the same thing. My highest ERC# in that league is a lefty 1.83 for 125 IP. I had to squeeze him in there for salary/IP reasons, but didn't really want too.... What's worse is that I had to squeeze him into the variable cap league for the same reasons.

You could be right. I've got lefty Hubbell (2.01 ERC#) and righty Spud Chandler (#2.03) in that theme. Love Chandler but he's probably not good enough for this kind of 130 cap. The price I pay for anchoring my rotation with `94 Maddux. Hubbell just won the opener but was touched for 9 hits and 4 runs -- shape of things to come?

I sincerely hope '68 Gibson doesn't wind up with an ERA north of 5.50. If he does, I'm probably having a poor season. That said, it's an astute observation and I probably should have thought more about having 2 lefties in the rotation at least.

Across the 4 lowest caps, my teams had 8 plus plays in the first game. Obviously we won’t keep that up, but if they average 1 per game per team, it will bode very well.
8/14/2019 8:14 AM
4-2 start, with both losses coming in my most uncertain themes. Hopefully that's some good foreshadowing.
8/14/2019 10:00 AM
My teams scored 27 runs and allowed 27 runs. And I went 1-5.
8/14/2019 10:05 AM
2-4. Three extra inning games out of six, and in one of them where I went light on IP, Doc White was pulled after 1.1 perfect IP and only 15 pitches for a mop-up man. An ugly start for one cycle, ha.
