reddtrain, you shall have the honor of trying to make winners out of the 1948-57 Washington Senators. The Senators didn't manage better than 5th place, mostly because they didn't have too many guys good at getting outs. I don't suspect they'll fare very well in Baker Bowl either.

Once round 5 is done, we can start round 6. In round 6, order doesn't matter, so everyone can post their choices whenever they are ready.

As a reminder, in round 6, you get to pick 1 player from the franchise-decade you were assigned in round 5, and give that player back to the owner who gifted you that franchise-decade. So for example, reddtrain gave me the 1932-41 Browns. I am going to pick someone from that piece of sh!t team and send him back to reddtrain.

Like the position player you chose in round 1 and the pitcher you chose in round 2, whoever gets chosen for you in round 6 MUST be on your final roster, and yes, you do need to get them their RL number of PA or IP (same 750PA/500IP max rule applies).

some teams with worse records had so many different players with one decent year... those rockies don't have a single starting pitcher

DoctorKz, the best hitter available to you from your decade is a weak-fielding lefty-hitting 1B Fred Tenney, so you'll surely want to roster one of his seasons. And several other potential picks are lefty-hitting outfielders, but you already have 658 PA from Sam Crawford to use out there. So surely the thing you need the least is another lefty-hitting weak-defending PA-sucking 1B. You'll have to make some sacrifices of quality offense or defense to fit him in, and you have to use him. Good outfield defense would probably be nice in Hilltop, too. What a shame.

So let me introduce you to your new pal. Dick Siebert had a couple decent hitting seasons. But 1942 wasn't one of them. Heck, in 1941 he had been 5th in the AL in batting average (trailing a couple dudes named Williams and DiMaggio), but he regressed. In 1942, Dick racked up 676 PA of 76 OPS+ (which ain't good, as you know). Also, he's slow (56 speed). And he doesn't hit for power or draw walks. My only regret is that you only have to spend $3M for the honor of having him clog up your lineup.
