so this is like the EOL?

Not sure what makes someone an Icon, but I’ll take Minnesota.

In the Icon leagues, traditionally you can only have people on your roster that actually played for your franchise at some point in their career

An Icon is defined as a player that only played for your franchise and therefore is not available to anyone else..I have tweaked the rules a little to make more players available to more teams, but it is the same general idea

I am unfamiliar with the EOL. It is a concept I've taken from baseball, with a few twinges that I think will help make it more balanced in basketball.

question lets say i have the lakers and want to use lebron but i want to use a year say from miami, is that permitted?

You use the year that we are playing. We start in 1988 and move forward a year at a time.

edsortails,
One thing about the 'if your team passed on them, you can take them' rule. Worthy went 1st to the Lakers in 82-83, so LA passed on everyone else in the draft. By the logic of the rule, the Lakers could pick from every single player in that draft (as long as they were still playing in '88-89). That's the way the rule as you explained it read, I just want to be clear that that's how it goes.

it's a franchise twist theme where you can use any season of a player as long as he has at least one draftable season playing for your franchise

If we get close to filling this thing up I'd be interested in taking a 2nd team in the east.

I'd hate to see this one go by the wayside so a bump for good measure.

One last ditch effort to keep this one alive.

I would suggest opening it up to 2 teams (at least initially) Maybe it gets closer to filling. My initial observations would be
1. A lot of people are a little hesitant because it's kind of confusing
2. It sounds like a lot of work and people are really busy now
3. I'd say keep it as simple as possible even if it means altering your rules slightly. (jp had a good question back in Oct that wasn't answered)
4. People don't want to enter then find out they misunderstood and get screwed

With that said, I'll take phoenix and cleveland

Two teams for 1 owner seems hard to avoid. My preference in that would be to not pick the 2nd franchise right away, but this isn't moving all that quickly so having limits seems counter productive.

Any player in the initial draft would be available to any team that passed on him in his draft year.

I would update the owners and teams on pg. 1

I don’t fully understand it but I’ll worry about that once we’re full. In.
