Draft Scramble
When I look for a new league to join I often look for something that allows for players not normally used in leagues. This theme is exactly that. If you like draft leagues and seeing a lot of different players this one is for you.
Select any team from the WIS database and “keep” 7 players from that team. Those players are your pre draft roster. The rest of the players from your chosen team will be thrown into the draft pool for everyone to draft.
Each franchise can be chosen only twice and the teams will be placed in separate leagues. There must be at least a 10 year gap between teams of same franchise. For example If someone selected the 1927 Yankees, no other Yankee team within 10 years of the ‘27 team can be selected.
The draft order will be determined by the total salary of your original 7 players. A snake style 18 round draft will be conducted in the Theme League forum. You are allowed to draft all players from the draft pool including the ones from your chosen team.
When you sign up post your team selection but do not post your 7 keepers at that time.
When all 16 owners are signed up the other 15 owners besides myself will site mail me their 7 keepers. I will not open those site mails until I send my 7 keepers to another owner in the league to be determined. That way no one knows the salary of the other teams 7 keepers.
Please do not sign up for this if you do not have time to be attentive to the draft. The draft will most likely be off the clock within reason for the first 2 rounds. We will then be drafting 2 rounds per day on a time schedule for the remaining 16 rounds. Ideally the draft should last 10 to 12 days.
16 teams ( 4 divisions, 4 play off teams, no wild card)
110 mil salary cap
AAA 6/4 below average
Trades are allowed as long as they don’t create a clone situation
No WW or DH
Ball Park must be the one of your chosen franchise
There is a good possibility that there will be clones in the league but having clones on your team is not allowed.
You have the choice of using the full or partial season of your keepers or drafted players. The only stipulation is that the player’s season have the chosen teams name attached to it.
In order to make sure that there are enough players to fill 16 teams 25 man roster 2 randomly chosen teams from franchises not selected will have their entire roster put into the player pool.
