Kareem is my favorite player on the sim to build a team around. The '79/80' season great...24ppg @60% and a def92 w/ 4.5%blks. and 4.5apg and only 2.6 fpg and a 24.8 usage. Well not the board lord of the 70s...he#s not a 3.5 to 4fpg player either. I can get kareem help on the glass..the rest his game is through the roof. In the 80's Kareem became the ultimate team player. Big fat grin. ;))

Really tough choice for me between Magic and Dr. J. Really like the Doc with 54.7% eFG, over 22% TR at SG, with 100 def. In the end, I had to go with the huge assists and Magic as I think PG is more of a key piece than SG. I just wish Magic played more def.

So I have Kareem, Moses, Barkley, and McHale in my division... gonna be hard for me to resist drafting accordingly ugghhh

Pick 16 was tough. It's right around a tire break so it came down to taking one of the many stud defensive guys or one of the few remaining solid efficiency scorers. I went with Clyde the Glide, which I don't love given position priorities but I felt like he was one of three remaining offensive players available at that pick. We'll see if I can build something around him.

This should be interesting. No 3s and weak assists, but over 37 ORB% between just 3 players. Trying to figure out if I want Rodman and Kermit to be my 3/4 or my 4/5.

Nice core, albeit with the issues you mentioned. And as good as your FG% and oReb% is with those 3, maybe you can afford to get a gunner at PG or 6th man… Rodman at 4, Kermit at 3 is my thinking, but I'm hardly the expert around here.

Well I'm about 1500 mins short at SF of a full team. Doesn't look too bad.
Start line-up
Pg...westphal (hf)
sf...Dumar (hf)
sf...*McAdoo (hf)
pf...Smith
c...**Jabbar (hf)
Bench
pg/sg...**Nixon
pf/c...Tarpley
* 100% @ SF
**both play together on Lakers 1980 NBA champion team.

I think my team can be around .500, hopefully.
Eaton
Parish
M. Mitchell
R. Blackman
M. Price
Bench
J. Drew
J. Humphries
The good, the bad and the ugly- Every player except Eaton (wont shoot much) and Drew (500+ FTA in just under 30 min per game) has well over 50 efg. Low fouls. Price and Blackman play no defense, but at least they'll come in under 2 FPG. My strategy, other than Eaton, was to go primarily for low fouls, high FTA per game and high FT %, high efg. The way things were going I knew I wouldn't get more than 1 or 2 defensive minded players, so the strategy made sense.
A lot of good D players in the 80's seem to foul 4+ times a game. And a lot of good players, played no D. I figure if you're not going to play any D, you better not foul a ton either. Maybe I can steal a few wins by fouling less than 10 times and having a high FT and efg %. I'm saying 41-41 if that.

Not sure what to make of my team. Definitely enough passing and OREB is good but I feel my DREB is weak. I think my defense is pretty good, but I am not a fan that my lead scorer has under 47 eFG%. I'll either do really well or fail miserably.
Holes to fill? basically just need a few more minutes @ C and some bench minutes @ PF (maybe some decent defenders)

C Donaldson
PF Hakeem
SF Kersey/Xavier
SG Xavier/Birdsong
PG Porter/Bagley

lot of offensive rebounds, not much passing, no threes, some bad defenders mostly average and Dream to clean it up, 50ish EFg...eh, .500?

Filled out the PF/C minutes with Sam Williams and Mark West. No threes, I got great assist % from point but nowhere else, average defense all around with some high spots, average efg with some high spots, average usage with good spots, average drb% with some high spots....You get the bit. I'm basically relying on Hakeem to be amazing and cursing myself for not taking Magic instead.

My ORB% is damn good though.
