Tough choices...I’ll take Lance Berkman.
MVP of the NL from Season 2.

The no-DH rule this season is going to play-out interesting on budgets and selections....

Does anyone know pstuts73? He has not opened the sitemail I sent yesterday, and I just sent a follow up. If anyone knows him, I would greatly appreciate relaying the message that we have started. Just trying to be proactive since we will be on-the-clock beginning tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up! FYI to everyone that I have sent a sitemail to charles4438, who expressed interest and is on the waitlist.

I'd like to have a backup plan ready just in case, and I would prefer not to delay the draft. Pstuts73 isn't on the clock until tomorrow morning, so there's still plenty of time.

Also, I may have missed, but for franchises not assigned, do they become exclusive too...... i.e,. Larry Walker (COL) is off the board. Could someone else take another Rockie with their first round pick?

The player's years with that franchise are exclusive, not the franchise itself. As such, other players from the Rockies franchise are available to be selected with future first round picks. Hope that makes sense!

The only real issue with this new rule, is it gives those drafting early the advantage over those drafting late.

Franchises Not Being Used:

Rockies (COL, 1991-2019)
Diamondbacks (AZ, 1998-2019)
Marlins (MIA, 1993-2019)
Rays (TB, 1998-2019)
Blue Jays (TOR, 1976-2019)
Mariners (SEA, 1977-2019)

slightly, with all those unused franchises and the amount of players to be had there should be plenty to go around. if you have your heart set on drafting a specific player then yes you might miss out but plenty more to choose from.

I really feel like it's dependent on the talent level from an individual's assigned franchise. If you have two elite studs, might not make much sense to pull from the other franchises. If you do, then it's also a benefit potentially to those individuals picking third and fourth. This round is a good example: Bagwell or Berkman probably don't fall if juice doesn't take Walker.

I'll have a tough decision with my top picks. Texas has great options on offense, not so much on starting pitching. Do I take two elite bats, or grab a top SP from one of the franchises not being used? If so, someone picking after me ends with a stud bat.

Adds a little something to the strategy factor imo. But I understand your point of view.
