Long overdue...Simba gets the call...

Wish he would've been elected in 2018 when he missed by 1 vote. Feels like he was elected by default this time. It's taking too long and preventing other deserving candidates to get elected since the VC members only get 4 votes!

Key is to look at the votes gained. I think Clemens only gained 1 vote and Bonds stayed the same.

So far Scott Rolen has gained the most votes with 16. I expected several players to get a huge boost this year since the backlog has been somewhat cleared. However, 23/65 revealed ballots have the max 10 votes so still plenty of deserving players!

You think Walker and Schilling will fall off that much? They're both at 86.7% currently.

i dont think so but if the net gains / loss trending holds up they miss out.

Up to 81 ballots revealed. Latest writer to submit her ideology is Claire Smith, who always has terrible ballots.

She only voted for 6 players:
  1. Barry Bonds
  2. Roger Clemens
  3. Derek Jeter
  4. Gary Sheffield
  5. Sammy Sosa
  6. Omar Vizquel
She dropped Curt Schilling and added Gary Sheffield. This makes absolutely no sense! If you're going to vote for the roiders, why omit Manny Ramirez?

was curt schilling ever considered a roider.....i dont think so.
i cant stomach him as a person...really despise him but if he was not a roider how he can he possibly not be voted for.
and larry walker is every bit as deserving as a ralph kiner who i love.

I just don’t see Sheffield over Walker.

Walker is just better in every way, and without roids
12/29/2019 3:02 PM
i absolutely agree.

I don't like that Schilling's political views are being held against his HOF candidacy. How un-American can you get?!
12/29/2019 5:19 PM
not me...i dont like him but i wrote that no matter how much i think he is a schmuck or he just is a schmuck he is still a HOF player very plainly.

also without being an *******, not that it should make any difference to his Hall of Fame candidacy whether a player was an ******* or not. Which brings me to Schilling...regardless of his political views, and whether or not I think he is an ******* (I do) I think he is a borderline Hall Of Famer. Wouldn't bother me if he got in or if he didn't.
