sappy - LeBron James, Donyell Marshall

Duo analysis: Donyell might be the perfect running mate for LeBron. If you're running Bron at PG and Marshall at SF than you've gotten LeBron an elite shooter, and built on his strengths of being a strong defender and rebounder for his position. Good job.

HDS1 - Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook

Duo analysis: I'm trying to come around on the Westbrook train but I don't see it working in a draft league like this, especially when you have another high usage star in Curry. Russ can help in a of unique situations but I don't think this will be one of them.

mikee1 - Wilt Chamberlain, Manu Ginobili

Duo analysis: 66-67 Wilt is the best player in the sim imo but understandably, people shy away from him due to the cap. Manu is a higher usage, efficient guard who's good on defense and actually pretty affordable. Good running mate to start with.

redbooda - Michael Jordan, Kyrie Irving

Duo analysis: I love MJ and love Kyrie's latest two seasons but don't really see the fit. You can afford to go a lot of different directions with an MJ team but another high usage perimeter scorer isn't the right one imo.

dh555 - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Chauncey Billups

Duo analysis: An efficient big man with a PG that shoots threes and can pass seems like a solid recipe for success. Will this team lack in overall rebounding? Kareem's best seasons lack a little bit there but I probably hold rebounding to higher standard than most and there's plenty of time to compensate.

NotoriusJ - Giannis Antetokounmpo, Clint Capela

Duo analysis: Rebounding and defense galore. Giannis' new season is sexy but leaves you with a very low minute count after 2 rounds, can you salvage enough to stay competitive with Giannis on the bench?

gerryred - Shaquille O'Neal, Klay Thompson

Duo analysis: Seems like a no brainer to pair Shaq with a great shooter. Still seems like you have a couple holes to fill, I'm not generally a fan of Klay in the second and he gives you so little outside of defense and efficient threes.

dBKC - Dwight Howard, Kevin McHale

Duo analysis: Two very efficient players. Never had a chance to use Dwight or McHale yet but they seem to fit together nicely. Another nice defensive frontcourt to deal with.

bds9992 - Dennis Rodman, Steve Nash

Duo analysis: Could be boom or bust here, depending who you build around as a #1 offensively and if you can get more defense and don't rely on Rodman as your sole rebounding threat which I think a lot of people fall victim to.

jackedjamie - Karl Malone, DeAndre Jordan

Duo analysis: Obviously the strongest duo due to the fact you traded into having 2 first rounders. Malone and DJ complement each other very well, plenty of options on how to fill the rest of the team.

benhoidal - Kevin Durant

Duo analysis: No duo yet due to you trading out of the second. KD is a good player but good enough to not need a second? Idk. Although ben is one of the most consistent owners I've seen on this site so I'm sure he'll figure it out.

tarheel1991 - Anthony Davis, Elton Brand

Duo analysis: Brand helps fill some of the rebounding holes AD can give you at PF and helps to start building an imposing defensive frontcourt. Good luck scoring against this team at the forwards position. Get a couple assists and threes and you're in a good spot.

samuelyork93 - Chris Paul, Horace Grant

Duo analysis: CP3 as late as you got him is a steal, but you may have offset it by taking Grant early. Still a good start, but I would have went for a more potent offensive threat to pair with Paul.

thomcat - Charles Barkley, Kevin Garnett

Duo analysis: Very interesting start. I believe you said they'll be swapping minutes at SF, with whatever is leftover going to PF, I'm assuming. I like that plan, should give you a lot of flexibility going forward although it seems to be an expensive start.

creigel - David Robinson, Anfernee Hardaway

Duo analysis: Wonderful start. Hardaway was great where you got him and I think choosing the right D-Rob season can be tricky sometimes but he has a lot of things you want in a #1 option.

all3 - John Stockton, Nikola Vucevic

Duo analysis: Love Stockton. Love Vucci Mane's most recent season. I'm always a sucker for the high ast% PG with a high reb% big man start. Should allow you to draft best player available without worrying about filling too many specific needs later.

mptrey - Larry Bird, Bill Walton

Duo analysis: I like it because I drafted it.

copernicus - Moses Malone, Scottie Pippen

Duo analysis: Prime boom or bust material here imo. Not sure which way it will go. I love Moses statistically but he seems expensive and unattractive to build around. Pippen is great and a step in the right direction.

tau1624 - Ben Wallace, Jason Kidd

Duo analysis: Severe lack of usage here but I seem to remember you starting another draft or two in a similar fashion and it ending up quite successful. I love these two players and if you find a cash cow offensively to build around this team can become dangerous.

pharrop - Karl Anthony-Towns, Draymond Green

Duo analysis: Not sure how to feel. KAT is a super efficient and Draymond is a unique talent and great in the right situation but he turns the ball over a little too much for someone if he's going to be on the main playmakers of the team.

jcred5 - Rudy Gobert, Magic Johnson

Duo analysis: Great dynamic duo. Magic is another one of those players that can be tricky to pick the right season but Gobert covers most of his holes and your team should be in a great spot rebounding wise.

ysw128 - Kawhi Leonard, Hassan Whiteside

Duo analysis: I love these two players but they don't provide a ton of minutes if you're taking their most efficient seasons and still leaves you needing to draft a lot more assists in later rounds. I never like looking for a specific need late in the draft as specialists fly off the board at that point.

isacqbs5 - James Harden, Paul George

Duo analysis: Harden is a polarizing player both IRL and on the sim. I think he can be built around successfully but with his insane usage it's hard to have a decent bench at this cap. George can back him up and probably keep you out of the penalty but can you now afford a solid supporting cast?

robusk - Tim Duncan, Shawn Marion

Duo analysis: Another strong start. Rebounding and defense should be of no concern and these are both incredibly helpful players at a pretty affordable rate. Should be a good building block depending on who you draft as guards.

Edited my duo analysis into the first post. May have had a couple drinks half way through this so forgive any errors or half-wittted comments. More to come as we go.

Someone is falling to his absolute lowest draft position. Wonder who scoops him up

Wade in the 4th. The times, they are a-changin'

Had I known he would’ve been available in the third I would’ve drafted my first two picks differently, but with Howard/McHale, he just didn’t fit my team at all. He is too good to drop to the 4th though IMO

Barkley- Garnett. Yes expensive start to do what I'm trying but at least they provide good number minutes and can be stretched out a little. Had to now dial down to McMillan at PG.

Holiday / ???
Covington / ??? / ???
Bird / Melo
??? / ??? / Moreland
Walton / Kanter

I love my team this season, which naturally means I'll be in the lottery but I think I'm learning more and more how to budget a good team in this league.

I noticed last night as I tried to fill out the undrafted portion of my team that a lot of players typically drafted by now are slipping through the cracks.

But also, by this point, you'd have to have either been drafting extra conservatively, or be willing to fill out your roster with some scrubs to still be able to afford said players.
