I'm very interested to see the impact of going for hitting vs going for pitching in the early rounds. Let's look at three teams (the three most extreme that I can see).
schwarze has a line of .357 / .479 / .692 and 0.88 WHIP over 663 IP. So he needs about 800-900 more IP and a catcher.
d_rock97 has a line of .373 / .460 / .668 and 0.94 WHIP over 995 IP. So he needs about 450-550 more IP, half a catcher, and a third baseman.
My team has a line of .371 / .433 / .588 and 0.83 WHIP over 1,236 IP. I still need 200-250 more IP, a catcher, an OF, half a 2B, and half a SS.
It's fair to assume that all of those lines will get a little worse in the second half of the draft (since the best players are gone). The primary differentiator that schwarze and d_rock have is OPS, but most of that comes from the fact that they both took a lot of HR hitters. The primary differentiator that I have is WHIP + more innings already drafted.
I think both are valid approaches. Gonna be a fun season with teams that are this varied.
