3dayrotation is definitely going with a 3 day rotation with Gibson, Catfish, and Gaylord Perry! maybe my user name should be hitandpray...or maybe sprayandpray?

Having a hell of a time getting the pieces to fit. Was able to get an acceptable 24 man roster just at the cap, but that's not quite going to work.

Elam Vangilder is also one of my favorite names. Oddly, my next door neighbor's last name is Vangilder. Never asked if they were related. Hmn, I'm gonna.

Going round and round with my team too. It fit fine before the dagger. Now I'm having to replace my good players and then to get under budget I have eight players from one team. Grrrr. Also at bats becoming a problem.

Maybe I can make a trade with ET. Trading wouldn't violate the spirit of this league too much, would it? Well maybe just one eeny weenie trade? Have to check with the commissioner. After all, me having a good team is in the best interests of the league.

Get some good pinch hitters. He will have to use the bullpen sometimes, and he won't have much of one. Gotta pull off those late-inning comebacks.

My assignment was to dagger Vilefileman who had the 52 Yankees, 32 Browns, 22 Red Sox, and 72 Twins -

The 52 yanks are solid all around
32 Browns offer some hitting and no pitching - could dagger Dick Coffman as he is the only decent pitching option here
22 Red Sox have a good dagger option in Jack Quinn bc he is the only pitcher worth a dang on the team and it would force him to roster a bunch of weak hitters. However, I think he could work it out with the cheap substitute options.
72 Twins - provide good hitting and pitching and also provide the only cheap substitute at 2B - This is where the dagger is thrown -

Say goodbye to 1972 Dan Monzon - and say hello to a combination at 2B of either 1932 Ski Milelo (3.9 mil for 700 abs), 1952 Billy Martin (2.7 mil for 440 abs), 1922 Del Pratt (4.7 mil for 700 abs), and 1972 Danny Thompson (4.4 mil for 650 abs). This forces at least 2 mil in wasted cap space. I hope it hurts.

I had built three possible rosters depending on the dagger (Collins, Kaline, and Aguirre). In a way, I had built too many options into my rosters (I actually considered putting Harry Hooper at 2B until I saw his .845 FP and 3.1 range). Losing Aguirre forces me into using the '62 Tigers primarily for their cheap fillers with only Norm Cash being a full-time starter (in the OF, no less).

Sticking them in Shibe Park and hoping my pitching can hold up.

Okay -- I made my decisions. The dagger made me kill off Hack Miller and Doug Decinces and that left me 1.5 million to spend. I ended up throwing it into pitching. That left my outfield weaker than I'd like especially maybe short of at bats. Anyways, here it goes....

I've tried to think of a name, but nothing has come yet. The team seems to lack a focus or theme.

22 Cubs (7)- O'Farrell (c), Grimes (1B), Krug (3B), Keen (P), Hollacher (SS), Alexander (P), Friberg (OF)
52 Tigers (6) Kolloway (1B), Kell (3B), Newhouser (P), Hutchinson (P), Wertz (OF), Mapes (OF)
52 Reds (6) Pellagrini (2B), Hiller (P), Nuxhall (P), Podbielen (P), Rossi (C), Raffensburger
82 Angels (6) Grich (2B), Foli (SS), Reggie Jackson (OF), Lynn (OF), Forsch (P), Zahn (P)

Could someone check my team out? I've messed with it so many times, there's no telling what's in there.
