Random Year Progressive (RYP)

16 Team Format
(Eventually we will go to 24 Teams but for a quick start we'll go with 16). *Expansion to 20 and then 24 Teams will happen over the first few years, maybe as soon as season 2 and 3 depending on new Owners wanting into the league and the retention of original Owners.

This Progressive will use every year in the WIS database. They will be chosen randomly.

Initial Draft:
The draft will be a bit unusual to speed up the draft process and give everyone a nice mix of players. I have randomly drawn 32 seasons that we will use. Each owner will be assigned a specific spot for each season. You will draft from #1 to #16 depending on the season. We are drafting "first season" WIS eligible players. To ensure everyone has enough PA's and IP's for the first season, the players taken in the Initial draft can be Twisted to their 2nd or 3rd season. If you choose not to Twist them they must start with their 1st. They will progress from the season you choose. You will only draft 25 players even though you'll have 32 picks. You'll PASS/SKIP on 7 selections, your choice. Each draft position is on a rotating schedule and the draft board has been posted in the Theme Forum. Keep in mind that some Seasons have less talent than others and assignment is random.

Subsequent Drafts:
There won't be a draft.
Starting after Season 1 and every off-season thereafter you will get a randomly chosen year either from 1886-1960 or 1961-2019. 1st year WIS eligible Players from that season will be your pool to draft new players from. Each successive season your randomly drawn year will alternate to 1886-1960 or 1961-2019 depending on which year you had the previous season. There is no limit to the number of players you can Cut but every new player you draft to replace your cuts must come from the season that was drawn for you and it must be their 1st WIS eligible season. Everyone will get a different season. I will keep a list of players in the league from each season for easy reference. You cannot draft players that are already in the league.
1885 will be a Wild Card Free Agent season and 1 owner each year will be randomly chosen to draft 1 player from that season. They must Cut their most expensive player going into the next season to make room for that 1 player from 1885.

There will be No IR.
Players will progress 1 season at a time unless they miss seasons due to injury or war, then they will skip over those seasons.

There will be no Keeper lists.
You get your new season at the end of the year and draft new players from that season, then Cut whoever you want to make room for them.

All Trades are allowed of players. Picks cannot be traded.
If collusion is suspected between 2 owners all future trades between those owners will be put to a vote.
Seasons will not be used again in a draw if they had been chosen the previous year, however they can be used again after skipping 1 year.

Rules for the Draft:
1.Use your Letter to find your draft slot for each season. I am the Letter "N", so I will draft from the 2009 and 1971 Seasons for my 1st pick.

2.Please limit your picks to the 2 that are due for that day. This will only take 16 days and I will need time to keep up with 32 picks being made.

3.We are using WIS first season for the draft.

4.If you cannot make your pick on time for a certain day send me a proxy or the owner picking after you for that season. Better to do that than miss a pick/s.

5.No trading picks.

6. Remember to skip 7 picks. That means by Day 14 you will need to have skipped 1 pick already and then the last 6 picks made on Day 14, Day 15, Day 16. Watch your seasons, you may want to take someone from your seasons on those last Days and NOT someone from earlier seasons.

7. Name your Team when you make your picks on Day 1. Can be any Name you want. This is just to make sure we don't have duplicate Team Names.

Ok, so this is cool and all, except it was clearly stated in the rules that you cant trade draft picks

Trading of players is allowed. Since we don't have draft picks after the Initial Draft, there may have been some confusion on this. Picks cannot be traded.
I suggest that if you want someone elses draft slot, work it out between yourselves who to draft for each other, then trade them after the season starts. I don't want to add anymore work switching picks around.
