Place of Birth *DEAD* Topic

This is my first time running a basketball theme, and I've always loved this theme in baseball.

Select an exclusive state and compile your roster strictly from players born there.

Going to separate California and New York into separate conferences. So there will be a team using only Eastern Conference seasons of players, and Western Conference players for each of these state.

I'm working on putting together some combos of countries so we may be able to utilize some of the European players. Africa would have Olajuwon, Mutombo, and Steve Nash for starters!

League Rules:
  • $50 million salary cap
  • Any season in the database. Maybe even 2019-20 players depending on when the NBA season officially ends.
  • NO: clones, trades, waiver wire, or minor league
  • Divisions aligned by region.
  • Use arena located in your state. If one is not available use home arena of any player on your roster.
Sign up is first come, first serve basis.

I'll take a team if you get enough interest.

I think you're going to have to combine states though, otherwise hard to fill 24 owners as the player pool gets smaller and smaller after the first 10 or 15 states. New England would be the 6 states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut (at least that would be 95 players). and probably good idea to add groups of countries too, maybe by continent

Yeah that's a good idea. Ended up having to do that in baseball to compete with the big states.

The New England combo makes sense.

Also Maryland/DC even though Maryland has 73 players, it's more quantity over quality!

Thanks for doing all this research! I was actually thinking about making bigger combos like France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, and UK. Dominique Wilkins was born in France!

Central/South America, Caribbean countries, and Mexico would be one team.

Too bad Canada doesn't have enough to compete.

Africa would lead the league in blocked shots!

Since Asia has not so many players, Canada can be put together with Asia to create a single team - and in case Turky can be moved back together with a mix of European countries.
5/14/2020 3:45 AM
And being italian, I would like to select the Europe team (whatever selection of countries Italy will be part of)
5/14/2020 3:46 AM
Since South Carolina only has 44 players by itself, If you combine South and North Carolina.... I'll take the Carolina's.
5/14/2020 5:54 AM
Since I went to Central High School in Springfield Ma with Travis Best (he was a year behind me and I'll never forget the game he set the all time record with 83 personal points in a game vs Putnam High!) I'll go ahead and reserve my home state!
5/14/2020 6:26 AM
I’ll take NY please
