I started one team in the world with the most countries represented. I figured that would give a lot more player options. But now I'm wondering, is there a way to see which world has the most human coaches? I'm thinking of starting an alternate for another world, but after getting in to a world with only 20 human coaches, I think that part of the game would be more interesting.

No doubt it would be. I am new here but I don't think that there is a way to see what you are looking for.

I wonder if it has been tried to recruit 20 active owners to all agree to join a world/country with no human owners simultaneously.

Well, I tried to get this information myself over the last two days. I got a count of 101 of the 143 countries through the worlds but only completed 9 total worlds. My method was using the exhibition games I had to view those teams' countries in each world, then searching for some common user and team names. Then I went through each team's individual schedule and counting each team that had an owner. So here is what I came up with (a ? means I did not find any info, a 0 means I was able to either look at that country or infer that there are no human team managers):

World 92 is good. But it appears that only 4 of the 8 human owners are active in France.

World 85 rocks. Very active chat and a long-standing tournament. Actually two tournaments each season.

Active versus non-active coaches is another thing I can't really tell from just seeing who played who. It also looks like 24/34 worlds will restart in the first couple weeks of July. Four restart in the is next week and six in June. I know it's free so no real reason to adjust but I wonder if that may turn people away, because unless they start at the right time or choose the USA or a country starting in that next world you could be waiting about two months.

Having the longest period of time between rollovers for 4 of the five countries definitely helps. Canada-85 easily the toughest country in FCD

After reading a couple comments I also went through and looked at when each countries season ended in each world. I'm still a little unsure about the restart but it looks like four days from end of games. Join World 85. It is the most active and vibrant world. Brazil is looking for some more people, but there is also Canada, Hungary, Mexico and of course USA.

Started a Hungarian team to get in to World 85, looks like it just joined the league. My alternate team is the Martians of Science

I strongly suspect that there are a maximum of 14 active managers in USA World 88. There were 7 new teams this year, and 6 haven't ever expanded their stadium or signed players. I'm the 7th new team.
