My 1911 Ty Cobb has been fantastic: through 50 games, a slash line of .353 / .417 / .517, 35 SB (with only 7 CS), and a net positive on the defensive end (9+/1- plays, with 5 errors) in CF. This is in a pitching heavy league (.249 / .307 / .336, with a league ERA of 3.48). And drafting Cobb allowed me more flexibility with the money I saved versus using the other studs.

On a related note, I've been very happy with my 1995 Greg Maddux (9-1, 1.56 ERA, 0.87 WHIP), and my team has a 2.60 ERA (even with some bullpen issues, starters have been lights out). This has been my best team at 34-16 (even after losing my past two games in extra innings), hope it continues!

My Cobb is the lone bright spot in my lineup. Biggest disappointment is the guy I drafted to be my run producer hitting behind Cobb:

Maybe this whole hitter fatigue thing is overrated. My variable team just gave up 12 runs to a lineup with four guys playing at 65-75 fatigue who went a combined 8 for 19 with 7 runs.

Guys who are tired might also make more fielding errors though.

Also, I've had mopups at zero percent pitch perfect innings (maybe even 2)... anecdotal evidence doesn't mean a whole lot.

It's just that my variable team seems capable of losing to just about anything submitted to face us. The game before we graciously handed steelerfan his team's 6th win in 51 games. It's the underachieving frustration talking here ...

My Cobb has been just OK, but not dragigng me down. That being said, my Furcal is batting for a higher average than Cobb (and just a smidge less OBP) so far and has been a pleasant surprise.
I can't really complain about any of my studs outside of Red. They've been very stud-like.

Red has a dependable .986 fielding %, but he's not hitting well and has only 3 + plays, so definitely not giving me much value.

Piersal hasn’t hit the broadside of a barn this year, but I’ll take his 10+ plays in LF already

10 straight sessions of 3-3 or worse after playing .560 ball.

Make it stop!

My Cobb has the the 16th best OPS out of the 18 Cobbs in the league.

Is there a breakdown of the first 162 vs current? I feel like I'm playing much better but it's hard to tell since I'm still 22 under .500

Yeah, I was playing around .560 and I've been alternating 1-5 cycles with 5-1 cycles and then 2-4, then 4-2, then 0-6, then 4-2, then 1-5, then 5-1... it's frustrating

I thought i drafted pretty good teams, but i've been getting a biblical beatdown in a couple leagues. i asked Hurst47 for help, and he warned me that the league setups are manipulated with sliderules, magic 8balls and a Ouija board planchette on Roger Stone's Nixon tattoo in order to determine the rankings, and part of me wants to believe him...
