WhatIfSports would like to make it clear that we oppose racism and hate in any form. It's easy to spot overt forms of racism, but there are many more cases where it is more subtle. We must all honestly reflect on our own prejudices, behavior, and beliefs in order to make a better world. WhatIfSports is about competition of course, but it's also about community. Let's enjoy our common love of sports and games, but also celebrate our differences as people.

We would also like to remind everyone about our policy against personal attacks and offensive language in the site forums and in league chat. We won't tolerate people attacking each other for any reason, so please be respectful in your conversations. We're not censoring anything unless it's a personal attack or is offensive. Also, please be sure to keep discussions in the correct forum. For example, game forums should not contain any discussion of non-game topics.

The whole "silence is violence" mantra foreshadows a very frightening and Orwellian future for our country. I understand the backlash companies are facing if they do not make statements like these right now, but the underlying assumption that we all have subconscious racism we need to reflect on/work on is a bit insulting.

Just to clarify, what is deemed offensive is up to us, and we use common sense. Sure, that's somewhat subjective, but it's usually pretty obvious when someone steps over the line.

If this thread devolves into a shouting match, it'll be shut down. Just keep an open mind and speak respectfully to each other. I don't plan to issue warnings if someone steps over the line, so be aware that violations can result in posting bans or even permanent site ban.
