Driving into Lake Erie Topic

A new member of the Arizona Cardinals found himself in trouble with the law this weekend, as one of their undrafted free agents allegedly drove his car into Lake Erie while intoxicated. According to WFMJ, former Youngstown State wide receiver Jeremiah Braswell was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, as a breath test showed that his blood alcohol levels were above the legal limit.

According to a release, Put-in-Bay Police responded to a call around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday about a car that drove into Lake Erie. Police say an orange Camaro was off the embankment and in the water when they arrived, and that no bystanders were injured during the incident. Witnesses also told officers that the driver was still in the car trying to drive it while it was in the water. When officers approached Braswell, he allegedly told officers that he was stuck and did not know what had happened.

Police said that Braswell's speech was slurred and he could not explain how his vehicle had ended up in the water. He then submitted to field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. Braswell played wide receiver for Youngstown State between 2015 and 2019. According to Youngstown State's official website, Braswell recorded 51 receptions for 986 yards and 11 touchdowns in 40 career games. He ended his collegiate career on a positive note, as he caught a career-high 24 passes for 515 yards and seven touchdowns.
